PSG and France superstar Kylian Mbappé sent a social media message to his compatriot Mike Maignan after the Milan keeper left the pitch in a Serie A game against Udinese due to racist abuse from home fans.

Maignan left the pitch at the Blue Energy Stadium in Udine minutes before the halftime break on Saturday night after hearing racist abuse from fans in the Udinese Curva. The game was suspended for a few minutes.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper received several messages of support from fellow footballers and football clubs, including Milan city rivals Inter.

Maignan’s compatriot Mbappé was among those blaming Udinese ultras and backing his friend and France teammate.

“You are far from being alone, Mike Maignan,” Mbappé wrote in an Instagram story.

“We are all with you. Always the same problems and always no solution. It is not enough.”

Udinese have promised they will ban those responsible for life, while a group of Udinese ultras has awkwardly said there is ‘no proof’ the ex-PSG and Lille keeper was racially abused.
