Mbappé makes Milan transfer claim, but earns as much as the entire Rossoneri squad

Kylian Mbappé has joked about a possible move to Milan, his favourite club in Serie A, but the France superstar currently earns as much as the entire Rossoneri squad.

The 2018 France World Cup winner has recently extended his contract with PSG until 2025 and according to multiple reports, he’ll get a signing bonus in the region of €130m plus a net salary of €50m per season.

That’s almost as much as the current Milan squad earns as a report of Calcio&Finanza in September revealed the Serie A giants would spend €51.5m to play their players’ wages for 2021-22.

In his latest interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mbappé said that Milan are his favourite club in Italy because he had an Italian babysitter when he was a child and all the members of her family supported the Rossoneri.

Mbappé: ‘I support Milan and I spoke to Liverpool twice’

“Thanks to them, I watched many Milan games and I’ve become a fan. I used to say: if I ever play in Italy, it will only be at Milan. If I had said something different, they would have killed me,” the France star said.

It is impossible to imagine Mbappé moving to the Stadio Meazza anytime soon, especially after his latest contract extension, which makes him the highest paid footballer in the world.

However, Milan fans can still dream of a possible transfer in the future, given Mbappé’s strong bond with the club. As of today, the Serie A giants are not even close to affording the player’s wages, given that the 23-year-old earns almost as much as the entire squad led by Stefano Pioli. Milan won their first Serie A title in 11 years on Sunday and their owners Elliott are close to reaching an agreement to sell the club to RedBird Capital Partners.
