Kylian Mbappé says he will be available for the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta on August 14 and reveals he didn’t discuss his role in a meeting with Carlo Ancelotti this morning.

French superstar Mbappé was unveiled as a new Real Madrid player today, meeting his new fans for the first time and talking to Spanish media at a press conference.

Mbappé broke his nose during the Euros with his national team, so it was unsure whether he’d make his debut with the Merengues in the UEFA Super Cup against Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta on August 14.

“I spoke to the doctors. Let’s see what we’ll do, but I will surely play if the coach wants to,” Mbappeé said at a press conference, as quoted by Marca. “I want to work to be ready.”

Champions League winners Real Madrid will meet Europa League champions Atlanta at the Kazimierz Górski National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland, on August 14, 2024.

Mbappé joins a stellar attack at the Bernabeu with Vini Jr., Rodrygo, and Jude Bellingham, so Spanish media wonders where the Frenchman will play and whether he has already spoken about it with his coach Ancelotti.

“I will play where the coach wants. I can play in all three positions in attack,” said the French striker.

“The most important thing is to be in shape, physically and mentally. The position is a detail. It’s not a matter of debate. I talked to the coach this morning but didn’t discuss where I’d play.

“I spoke to Ancelotti, but we only joked,” he continued.

“I want to play with all footballers and when you play for Real Madrid, you play with great footballers. I am happy I got to know them.”
