Tuttosport say there is uncertainty surrounding Walter Mazzarri’s contractual situation at Inter, with Erick Thohir not prioritising a renewal.

The tactician ended his first season with the Nerazzurri expected to agree a new contract with the club or to make way for the new President and owner to appoint his own man, having arrived as Massimo Moratti’s final Coach last summer.

However, in opting to instead postpone contract talks, Mazzarri indicated a willingness to continue working into next season, whilst Thohir has continued to indicate his patience to give the 52-year-old more time.

Tuttosport are running the line today, though, that it is a situation that is in fact casting doubt over Mazzarri’s position, with the hypothesis that it could lead to his exit by late summer.

The former Napoli boss is seen as unhappy with the current contractual position and is believed to be looking to open talks with Thohir over a new deal that would indicate his guaranteed position in the Indonesian’s long term plans for Inter.

However, with Thohir not due back in Italy until late June and only then for budget-related meetings with the board, holding a face to face meeting is seen as difficult until the club’s preseason tour of the United States in July.

At the same time, Thohir reportedly is not prioritising holding such talks with Mazzarri, out of a desire to better evaluate his work into the opening months of next season.
