“Their game against Atalanta in Bergamo says a lot about how they play. They can put anyone in trouble, and we saw what Atalanta did in the Champions League. However, we must only think about ourselves," said Mazzarri in his press conference.

“Verona are an aggressive team, they man-mark all over the pitch. It’s a team that is closest in style to Atalanta. They are the revelation of the season, alongside Cagliari.

“They have to be respected.”

Mazzarri shared embraces with Cristian Ansaldi and Simone Verdi last week, and the former Napoli coach was asked what it meant to him.

“Coaches must make players perform better. I try to establish a relationship with the lads, I believe in human relationships and only the players know their coach deep down.

“They are great emotions, these are the most beautiful things in my profession.”

Mazzarri is relieved to have star striker Andrea Belotti after several weeks out, but wouldn't confirm if this meant Simone Zaza is heading for the bench.

“He is 100% recovered. You will see my choices. Everyone has trained well this week.”

Torino are ninth in the Serie A table, whilst Verona are two places behind in 11th.
