Walter Mazzarri was not happy despite Napoli going second, as he blasted Walter Gargano.

There was an incident on the touchline when Gargano said something as he was substituted, prompting the Coach to put his finger to his lips and tell the midfielder to keep quiet.

“We must continue along this path, try to improve and think of nothing else,” he said of the 2-0 victory at Bari.

“Even that incident, which we must talk about, is a sign. The squad has proved that even the one who turns up last or rarely plays is still up to the task.

“If we are second in the table, it is because there are young players here who must have respect for those who step on to the field. If we adopt that attitude, then over time we do reap the rewards.”

Bari went down to 10 men for Alessandro Parisi's second bookable offence, but the second goal didn't come until the final minute.

“Our opponents played good football today and put Juventus under pressure last week, so we did well to stop them passing it round with their usual fluency.

“The work rate is crucial, as players like Marek Hamsik and the wingers allow Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi to be in the right conditions to score. They benefit from the work of their teammates.”
