Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri has no regrets about the summer departures of Walter Gargano and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Gargano asked to join Inter on loan amid fears that he would not be guaranteed first team football in Naples, while Paris Saint-Germain tempted the Argentine to Ligue 1.

“If a player thinks that their time at a club is over then you can’t really do a lot about it,” the tactician stated when asked about the Uruguayan’s exit.

“We liked Gargano a lot and he always played under me. It was the same situation for Lavezzi, but they made their decisions and they need to be respected.

“I’m happy with the players I have.”

The Azzurri have been quite active on the market this summer and there is the possibility of one more signing before Friday’s deadline.

“I won’t talk too much about the transfer market,” the former Sampdoria boss noted. “All I will say is that we may get a right-sided player if the opportunity is there.”
