Walter Mazzarri explains his Napoli choices for the trip to Juventus and outlines what must change after back-to-back defeats. ‘We worked on the mistakes we made.’

It kicks off at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin at 19.45 GMT.

Along with a long and bitter rivalry between the clubs, it is also a showdown between the side currently in second place and the reigning Champions of Italy, who are already 11 points adrift of leaders Inter.

While Mazzarri started after taking over from Rudi Garcia with a win away to Atalanta, it was followed by losses to Real Madrid and Inter.

“We worked on the mistakes that we made, so we must avoid those errors, limit the opportunities we give the opponents, but continue to play beautiful football,” Mazzarri told DAZN.

Victor Osimhen is not quite at 100 per cent, but starts anyway flanked by Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Matteo Politano. Is this the best Napoli attack in his view?

“I chose this XI as I consider them most suited to the task in hand. Then we’ll see how the game develops, we can make four changes and then always keep one to avoid going down to 10, so there are options to shake things up.”

Napoli beat Juventus both home and away last season on their way to the Scudetto, including an epic 5-1 result in Naples.

“I watched all the games last season, but every year is different, the teams change, there are different interpretations and we must focus on what we must do in the present, not look too far into the past.”
