Following Sunday evening’s 3-0 humbling by Torino in Serie A, Napoli will spend most of this week in a training camp as pressure continues to mount on coach Walter Mazzarri and his team.

The Partenopei will spend much of the coming week, beginning on Monday, at the Seradipe hotel in the Pozzuoli area of Naples for a period of reflection, La Gazzetta dello Sport has confirmed.

Napoli had also considered staying at the Hotel Gli Dei, the team’s go-to venue for pre-match meetings under Luciano Spalletti in 2022-23, but now the team have decided to settle into new digs.

The duration of Napoli’s retreat has not been confirmed, though it is likely that the squad will remain together until Saturday’s regional derby against Salernitana in Serie A. The team are set to jet off for the Supercoppa Italiana the following week.

Napoli’s mid-season training camp comes the day after the worrying 3-0 loss at the hands of Torino in Serie A on Sunday. Mazzarri’s side are without a win in four across all competitions and have only won three out of their last 10 outings in Serie A.

La Gazzetta suggests that the team are in need of a sense of unity, and that Mazzarri has not yet had a chance to create a feeling of togetherness since he replaced Rudi Garcia in November.

On top of restoring confidence in the group, Mazzarri and his staff will also need to devise a plan to cope without Victor Osimhen and Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa, who will both be involved in the Africa Cup of Nations over the coming weeks.

Napoli next find themselves in action at home against Salernitana in the league on Saturday, kicking off at 14.00 GMT.
