Mayor Virginia Raggi has confessed that she ‘doesn’t know’ whether Roma’s new stadium will go ahead after nine people were arrested.
Although none of those detained were linked to Roma in any way, among them was contractor Luca Parnasi, leaving question marks over the Stadio della Roma project, which had already been hit by delays.
“What will happen with the stadium? We don’t know,” Raggi told Porta a Porta.

“The steps of the procedure all seem valid. We reserve the right to make further insights. If there are no irregularities, we can move forward.
“I met Luca Parnasi in the spring of 2017 during meetings with Roma. My impression of him? We had opposing positions: he wanted to keep the space requirements as they were, we wanted to reduce them.”
