Jose Mauri or Antonio Nocerino could be sacrificed to make way for Roberto Soriano at Milan, reports suggest.

Tuttosport has reported today that in order for a new midfielder to be signed for the Rossoneri, a place in the squad must be freed up.

Milan will reportedly meet Axel Witsel’s representatives next week about a possible move, although the club’s €35m valuation of the Belgium international remains a stumbling block.

Milan will reportedly meet Axel Witsel’s representatives next week about a possible move, although the club’s €35m valuation of the Belgium international remains a stumbling block.

Rossoneri Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is believed to be keen on bringing in his former Sampdoria pupil Soriano, although reports emerged yesterday that President Silvio Berlusconi is unconvinced.

Tuttosport believe that if one of the two midfielders were to arrive, Nocerino and Mauri would be the players most likely to be shipped out to free up space.

Nocerino spent last season on loan at Parma, the same club that Mauri arrived from on a free transfer earlier this summer.
