Lazio midfielder Stefano Mauri has seen his appeal against a red card rejected by the League's disciplinary commission.

The Italy international midfielder was dismissed in last Saturday's match against Inter when he hacked down Yuto Nagatomo.

He was given a two-match ban, which Lazio protested against in view of their upcoming encounters with Juventus and Udinese.

However, the League's disciplinary commissioner didn't find that Lazio had reasonable grounds to appeal and the initial suspension remains.
