Marco Materazzi has likened Inter's Club World Cup win to his success with Italy at Germany 2006.

The Nerazzurri beat surprise finalists Mazembe 3-0 on Saturday and, although the defender didn't play, he's enjoying another global victory.

"Champion of the world again, it was as nice as Berlin four years ago," the veteran told his official website.

"It's not always true that one trophy is worth more than another, that one victory feels different to another, because other things make the difference.

"Champion of the world again, it was as nice as Berlin four years ago," the veteran told his official website.

"It's not always true that one trophy is worth more than another, that one victory feels different to another, because other things make the difference.

"The Club World Cup that we won in Abu Dhabi was won alongside my teammates of many years, not of days," he added.

"Work colleagues like Ivan Cordoba who played two great games and made me feel as proud as if I had played them.

"Companions in battle, during the good moments and the difficult ones. This is what makes you feel happy and proud to have won.

"And in the changing rooms, when I had my picture taken with the Cup alongside the President and my teammates, the anger of not having played just a few minutes passed.

"That is how football is, not everything is decided by us.

"A world champion with Italy and now with Inter, no decision by a Coach can ever take this double victory away from me – a victory which fills me with pride."
