“I’m coming off the back of a problematic campaign,” the former Juventus man told Il Secolo XIX.
“The fact that Genoa showed their faith in me gives me a real boost. Genoa can help me and I can help Genoa.

The Italian international could make his debut for the Rossoblu this weekend when they travel to play the Viola.
“I really like the playing style of Coach Gian Piero Gasperini,” the man who scored five Serie A goals in 30 games last term continued. “He’s very attacking.
“Destiny has given me my debut in Florence and I hope to have a debut like I did at Fiorentina.”
Matri scored a brace in his first game with the Tuscans during a 3-0 win over Catania.
