Alessandro Matri says he has yet to completely understand how big Juventus are as a club, but firmly believes that they are one of the greatest.

The 26-year-old has immediately endeared himself to the fans following his move from Cagliari in the January transfer window.

He has scored three goals already for the Old Lady, including the winner in Sunday's Derby d'Italia against Inter in Turin.

Interviewed in Tuttosport, Matri said: "To be honest I have yet to fully realise how big Juventus are as a club, but they are certainly huge.

"I am going through a magical moment: the goal against Inter, the enthusiasm of the fans. But I still have to fully understand what it means to be the centre-forward of such a big club.

"I am someone who lives one day at a time, so I am trying not to live too much in the clouds, but I always set myself objectives and that of playing at the highest level was one of the objectives I set when I first started to play football.

"There is Lecce up next and I am thinking about that game. We'll need maximum concentration for it.

"We have to forget about Inter and think about Sunday. Actually I am thinking about training tomorrow. I told you that I take one step at a time, no?"
