Alessandro Matri says he ‘can’t wait to get started’ following his deadline day move to Lazio.

The striker has arrived on a season-long loan from Milan, having spent the second half of last season at Juventus, scoring the winner against his new team in the Coppa Italia final.

“I can’t wait to get started and do well,” Matri told fans as he arrived in Rome.

“I will have time to work now [over the international break] and I’ll make myself available for the Coach [Stefano Pioli].”

The 31-year-old won three Scudetti in two separate spells with Juventus, and has been capped seven times by Italy, scoring once.
