Former Inter defender Marco Materazzi is convinced President Erick Thohir will bring the good times back to San Siro.
The Indonesian businessman arrived at the Nerazzurri last November and has frequently insisted it will take time to rebuild the club.
However, speaking to Le Buteur Materazzi expressed his liking for Inter’s new ownership and praised their ambition.
“I am sure that Erick Thohir will manage to give the shine back to Inter,” he said.
“I like the new leadership – it is ambitious and has brought a good amount of capital. That is something that shouldn’t be underestimated.
“Now it will be important to identify and bring in two more world class players. One has already arrived in Vidic.”
Materazzi was then asked about his relationship with former Inter boss Jose Mourinho and Nerazzurri youngster Ishak Belfodil.
“I had and still do have a fantastic relationship with Jose. He earned respect and sympathy from everyone in the Inter world.
“Belfodil? He has quality, but this year he hasn’t managed to express it. In my opinion it’s because of Mazzarri’s style of play, because he was impressive at Parma.”
