Inter legend Marco Materazzi celebrated the Nerazzurri’s win over Roma with a controversial Instagram post: ‘Nothing to say today??’

Simone Inzaghi’s boys have moved closer to a second successive Serie A title thanks to a 3-1 win over José Mourinho’s Roma yesterday. They have a one-point lead over Milan with five games remaining but seem to have a more manageable fixture list than their city rivals.

Serie A run-in makes Inter Scudetto favourites, as Milan face tough tests

Materazzi was among the 74,947 fans attending yesterday’s game at San Siro and the former defender celebrated Inter’s victory with a controversial Instagram post.

The 2006 Italy World Cup winner shared a picture of the Stadio Meazza screen showing the match’s attendance and captioned it by writing: ‘Well done boys, nothing to say today??’

Materazzi referred to the arguments that followed the Coppa Italia derby on Tuesday when Milan were disallowed an Ismael Bennacer goal for offside. The appointment of Simone Sozza for Inter vs. Roma also caused debate as the referee was born in Milan and came from the AIA section of Seregno, a few kilometres away from the capital of Lombardy.
