Materazzi mocks Ibrahimovic on social media…again

Marco Materazzi once again mocked his former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic on social media, replacing the striker’s face in an Inter team photo with the one of Samuel Eto’o.

Ibra and Materazzi had a go at each other earlier this month and it all started with an interview of the Milan striker with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Materazzi would tackle you from behind intending to hurt you, and we players immediately realise when someone is just tackling tough like Giorgio Chiellini, like Jaap Stam or Paolo Maldini,” said Ibrahimovic.

“I had unfinished business with Materazzi for years. I got him back in a derby. He went flying in with his feet raised. I jumped to avoid him and in the process got him with an elbow to the temple.”

Materazzi hits back at Ibrahimovic with trophy mockery

Materazzi hit back at the Swede with a Twitter post where he showed the World Cup and the Champions League, two trophies that he won during his playing career, contrary to Zlatan.

Today, a new chapter of their rivalry was written by the former Italy defender.

Calciatori Brutti, one of the most popular football-related Instagram accounts in Italy, had posted a picture showing Ibra and Materazzi during their time at Inter.

The former defender made some edits, replacing Ibrahimovic’sa face with the one of Samuel Eto’o.

He also wrote a message for Calciatori Brutti: ‘You made a mistake. If you wanted to show the treble picture, you had to post this.’

Ibrahimovic joined Barcelona in a swap deal with Eto’o in 2009, hoping to win the Champions League. However, José Mourinho’s Inter won the trophy that season, beating the Catalans in the semi-finals.
