Marco Materazzi once again mocked his former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic on social media, replacing the striker’s face in an Inter team photo with the one of Samuel Eto’o.

Ibra and Materazzi had a go at each other earlier this month and it all started with an interview of the Milan striker with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Materazzi would tackle you from behind intending to hurt you, and we players immediately realise when someone is just tackling tough like Giorgio Chiellini, like Jaap Stam or Paolo Maldini,” said Ibrahimovic.

“I had unfinished business with Materazzi for years. I got him back in a derby. He went flying in with his feet raised. I jumped to avoid him and in the process got him with an elbow to the temple.”

Materazzi hits back at Ibrahimovic with trophy mockery

Materazzi hit back at the Swede with a Twitter post where he showed the World Cup and the Champions League, two trophies that he won during his playing career, contrary to Zlatan.

Today, a new chapter of their rivalry was written by the former Italy defender.

Calciatori Brutti, one of the most popular football-related Instagram accounts in Italy, had posted a picture showing Ibra and Materazzi during their time at Inter.

The former defender made some edits, replacing Ibrahimovic’sa face with the one of Samuel Eto’o.

He also wrote a message for Calciatori Brutti: ‘You made a mistake. If you wanted to show the treble picture, you had to post this.’

Ibrahimovic joined Barcelona in a swap deal with Eto’o in 2009, hoping to win the Champions League. However, José Mourinho’s Inter won the trophy that season, beating the Catalans in the semi-finals.

  1. Materazzi basically won Italy the World Cup final against France. I don’t like him but I can’t hate him.

  2. MOTM in the Final was given to Pirlo but it was really Matrix.

Not just because he scored either. Defensively he was immaculate in that match. And, NO. That was not a legit PK. Florent Malouda dove.

  3. @Michael… but not that self-indulgence of player which is still a baby! Ibra is all about “SEE HOW TOUGH I AM, LOOK AT ME, I AM TOUGH”. He is great player tough.

  4. Lets just face it. Its embarrassing for Materazzi to brag about that treble and World Cup glory. He’s just lucky to be there. He’s on second tier role at both teams. Both Inter and Italy would be fine without him.

So what if Materazzi scored that equalizer? Italy wont have to if he didnt gave France the penalty in the first place. Too bad Nesta missed the match. He would give Italy a much better defence. Come on. What to expect from an Inter garbage. He’s prone to stupid defensive decisions, and oh boy he did. Just admit it, all Azzurri fans screamed “I KNEW IT WILL HAPPEN YOU IDIOT!!!” when that idiot caused that penalty. Well thanks for the equalizer tho.

  5. We had Marco Materazzi Statue made from Trees sticks back in 2000 in Mogadisho Somalia, describing how we were fan for MARCO. But Ibrahimovic 🤔 is like piece of unlucky player.

  6. @OH REALLY
oh my word. whatever you are on, come off it now. though the damage is probably already irreversible.

  7. @dzurjakcsopi thats it??? You only wrote that insult for ME??? Oh nooooo…

At least do that with your opinion about how my perception of your sweet Materazzi is wrong. Prove me wrong because all that i wrote is just fact. Inter and Italy would be just fine without trash like Materazzi that you love so much you have to insult me. Even by that i still compliment him on that WC06 Final equalizer by thanking him, you didnt like that? Oh nooooo
