The Giallorossi host Chievo this evening after a 1-0 defeat to the Serie A leaders in Turin.
“It’s you in the media who are talking about Luciano Spalletti’s contract, but the Coach was clear and sent a signal to everyone,” Massara told Mediaset Premium.
“The Coach is focused on the objectives to be achieved and that is his only thought. He is concentrated on a comeback that can take us to great heights. He wants to make sure our mentality improves and becomes a winning one.
“This is a difficult match that will require the best Roma, as Chievo are well-organised and are coming here to cause us problems.
“Our squad is competitive to go all the way in every tournament. We proved that with our performances this season. The transfer market seems to be open all year, it’ll finally open officially on January 4 and we’ll be ready to take any opportunity that presents itself to improve the squad and be even more competitive.”
What is the gap between Juventus and Roma?
“It’s difficult to win when Juve create a run that cannot be repeated, but Roma have always been close to them. The result in Turin was disappointing, but the performance offered was up to the task.”
Is Massara worried about reports Sevilla director Monchi will arrive at Roma next season?
“I am more worried about the player market than what other directors of sport are doing. I am concentrated on making Roma stronger.”
