A victory here would take the Rossoneri up to 35 points, on a par with Hellas Verona and Parma in joint sixth place.

“The Europa League would represent the minimum objective we set for ourselves,” director of sport Massara told Sky Sport Italia.

“Milan’s natural habitat is Europe, we know it’ll take time to get back into the Champions League, but we believe that we are on the right track to achieve those heights again.”

The media reports are already piling up on who could take over from Stefano Pioli next season.

“We are happy with the work Pioli is doing, he is giving a clear shape to this squad, a pro-active style of football and we really believe that we are on the right track.”
