Once again, a group of robbers put Chris Smalling’s home on their radars, but the vigilance system prevented a new burglary.

The English defender is training with Roma in Portugal and his family has followed him, so nobody was at home when two burglars were spotted inside the garden of their home.

According to La Repubblica and Il Messaggero, the two masked men were spotted by the surveillance system and the staff tried to intervene, calling the police as well.

However, when the officials arrived at the scene, the thieves have already run away.

Smalling’s home was robbed in April by three armed men.

The former Manchester United defender was forced to open the safe and give them a Rolex, jewels and other precious objects.

Smalling joined Rome in 2019 on an initial loan deal from Manchester United.

He completed a €15m permanent move to the Stadio Olimpico in 2020 and has 58 appearances with the Giallorossi.
