Mascara wished ‘delayed’ success

Catania transfer chief Pietro Lo Monaco has wished Giuseppe Mascara all the best for the future – but only after this weekend's clash with Napoli is over.

The Sicilian hero left Catania for Napoli on deadline day in January and he'll come up against his former club in Week 26.

"It'll be a very strange sensation to see him playing against us," Lo Monaco noted ahead of the San Paolo showdown.

"It really will have an incredible effect on me.

"I hope that he wins everything with Napoli and that he realises his dreams, but only from Monday onwards…"

The fantasista joined the Azzurri for €1.2m.

"Napoli, along with Udinese, are the most in-form team in the championship right now," added the official.

"Everything that they touch turns to gold at the moment. It won't be easy, even if I believe Catania can play against anybody."
