Novara talent Giuseppe Mascara has confirmed he’s heading to Al Nasr, probably alongside Fabrizio Miccoli. “We’d make a great partnership.”

The former Catania striker is ready to rescind his contract and make the move to Dubai for the club coached by Walter Zenga.

There are reports that he will be joined by Palermo captain Miccoli, who has also worked with Zenga before in Sicily.

“If both transfers were to go through, then it would be a huge honour,” Mascara told Mediagol.

“Who wouldn’t want to play alongside a champion like Fabrizio? I hope to meet up with him in this new adventure, as we’d make a great partnership.

“I was also on military duty with Miccoli many years ago, so we know each other well and have always had an honest, clear rapport. That’s often the case with us southerners,” smiled Mascara.

“Will I make a phone call to convince him? If you’re making such a big step, it’s right to focus on your own needs and not be influenced by outside advice. It’s not an easy thing to leave Italy for Dubai.

“The directors of Al Nasr are very efficient, as it’s not true that a rich club just spends money without logic. They know their football and do not intend to make bad choices.”
