Argentina Coach Gerardo Martino said he “will probably call” Carlos Tevez if he continues his Juventus form.

The striker hasn’t played for his country since the 2011 Copa America, but the new boss put in charge after the World Cup in Brazil is open to a recall.

“Tevez’s absence draws attention today as it has done for two or three years,” Martino told reporters ahead of a match against Brazil.

“I wanted to see other players right now, but if he continues at this level then I will probably call him.”

Tevez has scored six goals in six games this season for Juve between Serie A and the Champions League.

His record with Argentina is of 13 goals in 62 senior caps, having made his debut in March 2004.

Previous manager Alejandro Sabella resisted pressure to bring Tevez back amid rumours the Juve forward did not get along with Leo Messi.
