Argentina manager Gerardo Martino said this call-up is “a great opportunity” for Carlos Tevez to prove himself.

The Juventus hitman was brought back into the fold for the first time since the 2011 Copa America.

“Tevez represents the idea that every player can get into the Argentina squad,” explained Martino in a Press conference.

Argentina play England in a London friendly on Wednesday and Portugal in another test in Manchester next Tuesday.

“We’ll see if he plays from the start or as a substitute, both for tomorrow’s game as the one next week.

“Carlos did not surprise me with his form. It is a great opportunity for him. We have time to find our style of football, but the important thing right now is to seek a main idea. We need to create the right togetherness in the group.”
