“This is a very important match for us and it’s even more exciting to play against a great side like Milan and a champion like Ibrahimovic,” the Argentina international told Tuttosport.
“I am sure the Rossoneri will come here aiming to take the three points, as they need to get closer to Inter, but we need points too.”
Ibrahimovic is only the latest Serie A hitman to test Martinez Quarta.
“Lukaku left a mark on my neck… Then there’s Edin Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez and many more great strikers. I am very happy to have come to Italy, as this experience allows me to test myself against the best.”
He took a while to get into the Fiorentina first team, but has now become a reliable figure in the back three.
“It wasn’t easy for me at the start, but things improved with hard work, my teammates and the confidence I had in myself. I knew that I could do well here and wanted to prove it.
“I was on the bench for nine games in a row, but fortunately once it was my chance, there were some good performances. We are convinced that we are a good team and want to secure safety without pressure.”
