Olympique Marseille are haggling with Fiorentina over Pol Lirola, requesting a discount on the €12m option to buy.
The 23-year-old right-back joined Marseille on loan in January and made 22 competitive appearances for the club, contributing two goals and four assists.
According to Sky Sport Italia and La Provence newspaper, Marseille are not prepared to pay the agreed €12m option to make the move permanent.
They would still like to keep Lirola and are attempting to negotiate a discount, but Fiorentina see no reason to lower the fee that had been agreed just six months ago.
“Pol wants the clubs to agree on a transfer so he can continue in Marseille,” the player’s father Miquel told La Provence.
“There are other options too, but he only wants Marseille and not a return to Fiorentina.”
