Olympique Marseille director Pablo Longoria confirms they ‘have been talking for many days’ to Napoli about Arkadiusz Milik, but ‘patience wins’ in the transfer market.

The striker will be a free agent on July 1, so it’s safe to say his transfer value has plummeted over the last 18 months, going from €50m to €18m and now barely €12m.

It’s reported Marseille have so far offered €8m plus bonuses, continuing to negotiate with Napoli.

“This is a transfer window where everyone is a little impatient, but our strategy is to keep cool heads,” sporting director Longoria told Telefoot.

“We are working on a few different alternatives for the attack. We’ve been talking for many days about the possibility of signing Milik, who is among the best strikers in Europe, but we are working on alternatives too.

“Our objective for the transfer window is to be prepared, but above all show patience, because patience wins in this game.”

Considering the relative lack of other offers and the fact Milik will be a free agent soon, Marseille aim to make Napoli sweat for every Euro.
