Marseille €20m for Lapadula

According to L’Equipe, Olympique Marseille have met with Gianluca Lapadula and are prepared to pay Milan’s €20m asking price.

It’s reported director Andoni Zubizarreta held a meeting with the centre-forward in Milan when he was in the city negotiating with Juventus for Patrice Evra.

Milan quoted a €20m price-tag and Marseille do not see that as a problem.

However, any deal would only be over the summer, because the Rossoneri have already sent M’Baye Niang to Watford in the January transfer window.

The striker was a sensation in Serie B last season, propelling Pescara to promotion via the play-offs with 30 goals and 12 assists in 40 games.

This season he has managed four goals and two assists in 13 Serie A appearances, but most of them were off the bench.

Lapadula is still waiting for his Italy debut and is eligible for Peru, as his mother is Peruvian.
