Olympique Marseille will ask Milan for striker Rafael Leao on loan next season, claim reports in Portugal.

According to transfer pundit Pedro Almeida, Marseille President Pablo Longoria is targeting Leao this summer.

Today is Leao’s 22nd birthday and he is under contract with the Rossoneri until 2024.

He was signed from Lille for €29.5m, with the French side also owed 20 per cent of any future transfer.

However, the Portugal Under-21 international has struggled to really deliver at San Siro, playing in various different roles without much consistency.

He contributed seven goals and six assists in 40 competitive games this season.

A loan could perhaps help him rediscover his confidence and scoring touch.
