Former Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta insists "it was time for a change", but accepts his exit could have been "better managed".
Having since joined Inter, the 61-year-old looked back on his decision to leave Turin and explained the reasons behind it.
"It was time for a change," he told Il Secolo XIX.
"There were other directors around me who were ready to take on more responsibility and the club decided on a generational change.
"Of course, it could've been managed better."

Marotta also praised Cristiano Ronaldo, in particular the No 7's mental strength and desire to always improve.
"He's a champion, firstly in terms of his mindset," added the Nerazzurri general manager.
"He doesn't neglect anything, in training, his lifestyle or in his communication with others".
