The Bianconeri have had a difficult start to the season but moved up to seventh in the table on Sunday after a 3-1 win against Empoli.

Former Bianconeri playmaker Pirlo has been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri in the MLS off-season, but Marotta doesn’t see it happening.

“I know Pirlo, for the great sincerity and affection that he had for us,” Marotta told Processo del Lunedi.

“I’m almost certain that, if a proposal like that came along, he wouldn’t accept it.

“Third place is the minimum target to reach, we must aim for the Champions League.

“Scudetto? We have some hope. We must be aware that difficulties exist, maybe for the first time in years, from strong opponents – Roma have now established themselves as a high-level opponent.

“Inter can become a serious candidate and win. The Nerazzurri, despite having scored only 12 goals, they’ve conceded only seven and this isn’t a fault. Quite the opposite, they’re deservedly on top of the table.

“I’m happy with the position that I have at Juventus, I want to achieve more satisfaction from Juventus.

“It’d be extraordinary to be able to win the Scudetto again, then the dream is always to lift the cup with the big ears (the Champions League).”
