Beppe Marotta reportedly informed Simone Inzaghi that one more Inter star would leave in the summer to balance the books.

The Nerazzurri saw Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku leave the club last summer for a combined €183m fee. However, the Serie A giants will be forced to sell one more top player during the summer transfer window.

According to Calciomercato.com, Marotta and President Steven Zhang informed Inzaghi about the club’s plans during today’s meeting at the club’s headquarters.

Alessandro Bastoni, Milan Skriniar and Lautaro Martinez are among Inter’s most valuable players and one of them could leave the club at the end of the season. The Nerazzurri are open to listening to offers for Stefan de Vrij, but the Dutchman’s worth isn’t the same as his teammates.

The coach and the club also discussed Inter’s transfer strategies with the Nerazzurri in talks with both Paulo Dybala and Henrikh Mkhitaryan who could join the Benamata at the end of their contracts in June.

New signing André Onana also arrived at the headquarters for some social media activities ahead of his official unveiling.

Inzaghi and Inter directors didn’t discuss a possible contract extension for the coach but will do so in the next meeting as the Italian tactician only has a year left in his contract.

According to the report, Inzaghi didn’t seem happy on his way out of the club’s offices today but didn’t talk to the media after his meeting with Marotta and Zhang.

  1. Suning needs to go. How can they expect Inter to compete on all fronts if they keep having to sell their best players. I feel bad for Inzaghi, he deserves to be given the funds to build a great team. He lost two star players and still managed to bring us two trophies. #suningout

  2. Second time I made comment and disappeared. Too lazy to write it again. Shortly, Simone, do like Conte and leave Inter as sign of protest and Inter will hire aunknown coach.

  3. Something is deeply wrong with the comments section here on football italia, as it seems like half of the time it does no go through.

Perhaps the staff should consider implementing a proper service for it.

I mean you guys want to drive up the activity around here, right? Then why not look at DISQUS or something similar?

  4. If Inter sell either Skriniar or Barella it’ll be a big loss. Suning are a joke they have turned Inter into a selling club meaning other teams will always look to get the best players and wait for new ones to be developed.Sacrificing Lautaro might be the way and then getting Dybala for free plus another forward like Zapata. Otherwise I think Inter will end up selling two key players like last season.

  5. @soloInter: Skriniar, Bastoni and Barella should be all not available on the market.

De Vrij and Pinamonti should be sacrified instead of Martinez. Duván Zapata is 31 and misses lots of chances, would rather prefer someone more clinical when the time is right.

  6. Instead of clinging on to the club sell it to a firm who will make inter win more silverware u cannot get rid of your star players

  7. We got rid of Donnarumma and Calanhoglu last season and went one better. Have faith in your management

  8. Inter lost 3 stars last season – Ericsson also. A miracle they did as well as they did considering they lost 1/4 billion of talent.

  9. As an Inter fan its quite painful to need to sell a big player, however the situation is what it is. We overspent, covid bit us, and now we need to payback.

Nonetheless I doubt this summer will be as painful as the last one. Remember we lost our coach and 3 superstars, and we were still very competitive this year, so for fellow interesti have some faith.

  10. Make no mistake. The ONLY reason another team won the league this year is because Juve were so bad. If Juve make a strong market and have some continuity as usual, they’ll probably win the league by April. The others have to reinforce heavily.

  11. Suning has to leave. Please sell the club as soon as possible. If you cannot afford it, get out!
