Inter director Beppe Marotta refuses to comment on the recent Juventus scandal and rules out a return to the club, revealing that one of the leading Italian politicians, supporting Southampton, has been trolling him because of Carlos Alcaraz.

The Nerazzurri CEO released an interview with Il Corriere della Sera and was asked his thoughts on the chaos surrounding his ex-club Juventus, who have been docked 15 points for financial irregularities.

“I won’t discuss the work others did, I think about the present with the Nerazzurri. My years at Juventus are part of the past and I can only have great memories,” he said.

Asked whether he would return to the club, as a few reports have recently suggested, he replied: “I am happy with the path I’ve taken. I feel well at Inter and I am focused on contributing to more victories.”

The 65-year-old spent eight years at Juventus, winning, among other things, seven Serie A titles.

During his interview with Corriere della Sera, Marotta also spoke about his ambition of someday quitting his football career and entering politics.

“I was asked to do so, but everyone has a dream and mine is to enter as a technician and not affiliated with any political party,” he said.

Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti, a friend of Marotta, and one of the leaders of the right-wing political party Lega, was rumoured to have approached the Nerazzurri director, offering him a path in politics.

“Look, he only texted me to troll me about Carlos Alcaraz of Racing. He has signed for Southampton, the team Giancarlo supports.”

The Nerazzurri had been in talks for the Argentinean wonderkid, but the Premier League side have already secured a €14m deal for the summer.
