Speaking to Sport Mediaset, general manager Marotta was also asked about the on-going reports that Inter are preparing to pick up Dybala as a free agent in the summer if he does not extend his contract with Juventus.

Notably, the response was not even vague, but simply refusing to answer.

“At this moment we are in all the remaining competitions, so we are concentrated on these tournaments. We’ll concentrate on the transfer market at the right time.”

Marotta was also asked about the Scudetto race after Milan boss Stefano Pioli insisted that Inter remain the favourites to retain the Serie A title.

“Winning our 20th Scudetto is certainly an objective, albeit an ambitious one, but Milan are the favourites.”

There were reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning that coach Simone Inzaghi would be offered a contract extension to 2024.

“Inzaghi arrived quietly, he inherited a squad that won the Scudetto and that was not an easy position to be in. Today he is the leader of this squad, we are still in three tournaments, we won the Supercoppa Italiana.

“We are really very happy and he is very happy to be with us.”
