Beppe Marotta has reiterated that Mauro Icardi is not part of Inter’s first-team plans and is ‘optimistic’ about Alexis Sanchez.

Icardi’s agent-wife Wanda Nara announced on national television over the weekend that her husband was staying at Inter, despite being ignored by boss Antonio Conte.

That prompted Marotta and President Steven Zhang to once more inform the striker that he had no place in the club’s project during a meeting on Tuesday.

That prompted Marotta and President Steven Zhang to once more inform the striker that he had no place in the club’s project during a meeting on Tuesday.

“Everything’s fine,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Our position remains the same.”

The former Juventus general manager was then asked about Sanchez, who is set to arrive on loan from Manchester United.
