Inter director Beppe Marotta believes Milan have ‘reached their peak in terms of performance, form and results.’
It kicks off at 19.45 GMT at a packed San Siro, you can follow the build-up and action as it happens on the LIVEBLOG.
“Milan have reached their peak in terms of performance, form and results, so they are a tough opponent,” the director told DAZN.
“Everyone also knows the derby is a special fixture that stands out even beyond its effect on the Serie A table.”
Nicolò Barella and Lautaro Martinez have recently signed contract extensions, but Marcelo Brozovic is still seemingly a long way off his deal.
“We gratified Lautaro and Barella, who arrived here with great humility. Contract extensions are part of the normal running of a club, but this mustn’t affect our season. These dynamics are to be dealt with professionally, the players care about Inter and want to continue here.”
Inter and Milan finally reached a basic agreement with the local council to build a new stadium next to the existing Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, so both will be in the San Siro neighbourhood of Milan.
“The new stadium represents an important asset as well as a container for the emotion of this sport. Within it, there is a great sense of belonging and it is only right that it should be studied with a modern vision.”
Is this a backhanded compliment or no? So we cannot play better in the future? Worry about Inter, not us.
