The Nerazzurri picked up their first Scudetto in 11 years this season and Marotta, who joined the club in December 2018 after ending an extraordinary spell with the Old Lady, has worked hard to help Inter return to the top.

He explained that he doesn’t think of this years Scudetto as a revenge, but looks forward to Inter’s trip to Turin as champions of Italy.

“The Inter Scudetto is a dream come true,” Marotta told Tuttosport. “I imagine it will be satisfying to return as Italian champions to Turin on May 15.

“To decide the fate of Juve. That’s the beauty of sport.”

His adventure with the Bianconeri ended in an unexpected way, but Marotta said he’s on ‘good terms’ with most of them.

“The experience in Turin has given me a lot, except for the bittersweet farewell,” he said. “If we want to define it that way.

“I have remained on good terms with everyone, except Paratici, but that question is more human than professional.

“I’m a manager used to accepting the choices of the club I work for and so it was in September 2018, even if I honestly didn’t expect it.”

The Inter CEO excluded a return to Juventus, amid rumours of a spectacular move.

“I exclude it. It’s an eventuality that has never been considered, nor have I received requests from Turin. There’s only Inter.”

The director said he looks forward to creating a winning cycle with Antonio Conte at Inter.

“Now, with Antonio, we want to open a long and successful cycle,” Marotta continued. “The absolute guarantee is him.

“He instilled the winning mentality in the team. This is the fifth title he has won in 10 years. Conte is the best.”
