Inter President Beppe Marotta looks forward to the new Simone Inzaghi contract, assuring they are ‘not even halfway through’ his era.

The Nerazzurri have won six trophies under this coach, culminating in the Scudetto, along with two editions of the Coppa Italia and three Supercoppa Italiana editions.

He has been negotiating a new contract for many weeks and it could be announced as early as tomorrow.

“Inzaghi started this era a few years ago and I think we are not even halfway through,” Marotta told reporters after receiving the Stella d’Oro award.

“We are very eager to continue together, because he deserves it. We are happy to work with him, just as Simone is happy to work with us.”

The 48-year-old tactician took charge in the summer of 2021 after Antonio Conte walked away and has overseen 104 victories, 28 draws and 26 defeats.

His current contract runs to June 2025, but the extension is expected to run until the end of the season in 2026.

Marotta and Inzaghi look to Inter future

Despite the change of ownership after Oaktree took over from Suning, Inter are still investing in strengthening the squad and trying to replicate their run to the Champions League Final.

“Inter do not just aim for the Scudetto. Our DNA imposes us to always compete to win, these are the lessons of the history and trophy cabinet of the club,” added Marotta.

“So with all due respect for our adversaries, we begin aiming to obtain the maximum result.”
