The other game in the group is another huge shock, as Shakhtar Donetsk are 2-0 up against Real Madrid.

“This has suddenly become the most balanced group. We’ll sit down and make some calculations after the final result. We know that we need six points from the last two games, that goes without saying,” the director told Sky Sport Italia.

“The last round will be decisive for both qualification to the Round of 16 and also the Europa League, in my view.”

That might not be the case, because if Inter don’t win tonight, they will be guaranteed last place and can’t even qualify for the Europa League.

Coach Conte was irritable after the 3-0 Serie A win over Sassuolo and complained he needed ‘all hands on deck’ rather than letting someone go overboard and drown.

“The coach is very demanding, we all know and that is why we brought him in. It’s part of the working process to achieve winning results,” added Marotta.

“We are always ready for any difficulty and are totally united, but I want to point out that the ship is not in stormy waters.”
