“We analysed the current moment, but always with a positive and optimistic outlook to the future, albeit with the natural level of self-criticism,” the director told DAZN.

Christian Eriksen will start in midfield today.

“Eriksen is a player in our squad, so he is at the disposal of the team, but the coach has the autonomy to choose who plays and when. Eriksen is in the XI today, so that’s the clearest response I can give.”

Are Inter obliged to win the Scudetto?

“This era began last year, I don’t want to talk about projects and processes. There is great disappointment at going out of the Champions League from everyone within the club and the fans. It is our duty to give our best to achieve good results.

“I am here on a daily basis and can assure you the process that reached the Europa League Final a few months ago is continuing, there are improvements throughout the side aimed towards the future.

“We have done very important work over the last year and a half, providing clear improvements. As I said, disappointment is accompanied by self-criticism and that’s because there are many areas where we want to improve.”
