Juventus director general Beppe Marotta insists “the pitch is very dangerous” and completely iced in Poland this evening.

It's reported the Bianconeri have made a formal request for the Europa League game to be called off, as the temperature is already at -11C and is expected to go below -15C.

“The state of the pitch is very dangerous and there just aren't the right conditions to play this match,” director general Marotta told Mediaset ahead of the 20.05 UK time kick-off.

“The area around the touchline is completely iced. I really hope nobody gets hurt out there.

“The medical suggestion from UEFA is that a game should not be played at -15C, but we accept the referee's decision.

“The trouble is that postponing it to find another date would be extremely difficult for us.”
