“I hope above all that it is a great advert for Serie A. This game will be shown all over the world and I hope it’s entertaining,” the Bianconeri director told Mediaset Premium.
“In my view it won’t be decisive for the title other than as a test to overcome so we can get back on top of the table. The performance itself will also count for a lot and in terms of prestige a victory would do us good.”
Is the Scudetto race now purely between Juve and Napoli or could others break in?
“We saw our comeback when nobody believed that we could challenge. There are 13 rounds left and that means a lot of points are up for grabs. It’s not just an issue of nerve, but also of injuries and other factors.
“Serie A is a race done in stages, not like the Champions League. The best team wins in the end with good organisation. It’s difficult for me to say right now, but I believe there are still four or five sides who can challenge for the title.”
Marotta was also asked about reports Juve are targeting Edinson Cavani.
“He is still an excellent player who caused us all sorts of problems when he was at Napoli, but now he is at PSG and I cannot add any more, especially as we have talented players who will be the future of Juventus.”
