“Conte’s concerns are legitimate and shared by all of us,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.

“It is a growth process, we have to take these steps with all the time required and realise we are at the beginning of a new era.

“There are some difficulties, we must overcome them and there is a packed fixture list, but we are proud to be participating in three tournaments and want to do as well as we possibly can in all of them.

“We’ll see what the January transfer market offers, there are very rarely great deals available, but we will look at what we can do.”
