Inter director Beppe Marotta draws no distinction between the Bologna and Atletico Madrid matches, and gives a clue on Giovanni Fabbian’s future.

It kicks off at the Stadio Dall’Ara at 17.00 GMT.

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from today’s four Serie A games on the LIVEBLOG.

This is a tricky match, because Bologna already caused problems for the leaders twice this season, with a 1-1 Serie A draw and then eliminating them from the Coppa Italia in extra time.

“Today is the 116th birthday of the foundation of this glorious club, so firstly I want to celebrate with all the Inter fans,” CEO Marotta told DAZN.

Could such a tough Serie A match just days ahead of the Champions League trip to Atletico Madrid be helpful or damaging?

“The games complement each other. Today we want to consolidate first place in Serie A, while on Wednesday we want to get through to the next round, and the common denominator is to put in strong performances.”

Fabbian is an Inter youth product who is playing for Bologna this season, in what used to be called a co-ownership deal, but is now a loan with option to buy. Are there plans to bring him back to San Siro?

“Inter have a buy-back clause, so Inter sent him out to gain experience in the provinces, but we are all proud of him. There is no rush, as the clause has another year on it after the end of this season. We’ll see what is best for him and for us.”

The Stadio Dall’Ara is famously a tough arena for Inter, who lost the Scudetto here with a Ionut Radu howler.

“There are still many games to go, many points up for grabs, so we must keep putting in the performances worthy of Inter. If we have those, then the results will come too.”
