Mario Rui admits he is ‘fortunate to be part of a squad like’ Napoli and expects great things from Kvicha Kvaratskhelia as Napoli host Eintracht Frankfurt to make Champions League history.

It kicks off at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona at 20.00 GMT.

The first leg ended 2-0 thanks to Victor Osimhen and Giovanni Di Lorenzo goals in Frankfurt, while Kevin Trapp parried the Kvicha Kvaratskhelia penalty too.

The Partenopei have never reached the Champions League quarter-finals, but hope to join Milan and Inter in the last eight of the competition.

“I am happy with my current period of form, but even happier that the team is doing so well. I am fortunate to be part of a squad like this,” Mario Rui told Amazon Prime Italia.

While Osimhen drew much of the focus initially, Kvaratskhelia is gaining more and more fans after his one against eight goal with Atalanta.

“Kvara is having a fantastic season, you could see from the start what he could become, but the credit also goes to the team that puts everyone in the condition to give their best.”

The build-up to the match has been overshadowed by the violent clashes between Eintracht Frankfurt supporters and police, with Atalanta and Napoli fans joining in to fuel the bitter rivalry.

“I can only ask the fans to support us and stand by our side, then everything will be easier.”

Luciano Spalletti’s men have won all but one of their Champions League fixtures this term, scoring 22 goals and conceding six.
