Napoli are reported to be the favourites for free agent Mario Hermoso, ahead of Roma, while Juventus, Inter and Milan could also show interest.
The centre-back turns 29 next month and has decided not to extend his contract with Atletico Madrid beyond June 30.
According to Chiringuito TV in Spain, Hermoso has a very specific idea on his mind and that is to take the next step in his career in Italy.
There are several teams who would be glad to welcome the Spain international into their squad, especially without a transfer fee attached.
Hermoso has eye on Serie A
According to DAZN, the absolute favourites so far are Napoli, although there remains quite a distance between his wage demands and the proposal on offer.
The same source suggests that Roma have also made contact with the defender.
Calciomercato.it point Hermoso towards Inter, noting that Milan could also be ready to step forward with an approach.
A product of the Real Madrid youth academy, Hermoso went on to play for Real Valladolid and Espanyol before the €25m transfer to Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019.
He has also been linked with Aston Villa this summer, but would seem to have his heart set on Italy.
