Inter and Juventus target Marcus Thuram could leave Borussia Monchengladbach as a free agent in June and Lilian’s former agent Oscar Damiani believes the France striker is ready for a top club.

The 25-year-old’s contract with Borussia Monchengladbach runs out in the summer and both Juventus and Inter are being linked with securing his services should he fail to pen a new deal with the Bundesliga side.

Damiani was the agent of Marcus’ father Lilian, a former Serie A defender who played for Parma and Juventus, winning the World Cup with France in 1998.

“Marcus is so strong, an attacking winger with an eye for the goal. He could play for any team,” Damiani, who is not the representative of Marcus Thuram, told Tuttosport.

“A few years ago, Giovani Sartori wanted to bring him to Atalanta. I spoke about it with his father, but Marcus already had an agent, so nothing happened. It’s strange to see him get to the end of his contract, but I don’t know since I’m not his representative,” Damiani continued.

“Of course, if he’s available as a free agent, he’d be a big opportunity for every top club.

“Inter had already followed him; Thuram’s agent represents many young players in France, but Marcus is no longer a kid and he will make his choices. Beware that players feel well in Germany, perhaps more than in Italy.”

Thuram has scored 13 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions this season and is part of France’s 26-man squad list for Qatar 2022.

Marcus is the brother of Lille midfielder Khéphren, but the 21-year-old’s contract in France runs out in June 2025.

“I saw both of them grow up, I still remember when they were playing at home in Paris,” recalled Damiani.

“Their family is in love with football. I think Khephren should stay at Nice until the end of the season, he can further improve in Ligue 1. I don’t know if he is ready for the highest levels, but he is an exciting prospect.”

Khephren Thuram has scored two goals in 11 appearances with France’s U21 squad and has collected 94 appearances in Ligue 1.

  1. no, he’s not good enough, club status like roma / sevilla would be a good fit, but not for a top club
